Why MBBS in Ukraine is not a good option for Indian Students?

Studying MBBS in Ukraine can have both pros and cons for Indian students. Here are some reasons why MBBS in Ukraine is not a good option:

  1. Krok Exam: At time of taking admission, agents do not inform students about this exam. This exam is taken twice, once in 3rd year and 2nd time in 6th year and just to make you very clear, this exam is not that easy. At time of admission 99% agents don’t inform about this exam and if any students get to know about this, and ask about this exam from admission consultant, they say that its just a passing exam and you will get multiple chances to clear this exam. But they never provide you details of failed students who left their MBBS journey in Ukraine because of this exam. Believe me, hundreds of students failed this exam and have to either leave their degree, or repeat their 3rd year again. Many students in past also took transfer to countries like Russia, Kyrgyzstan, etc. but this option is no more available as National Medical Commission doesn’t allow taking transfer to another country for new students.
  2. Corruption by Agents: This is a very big issue in Ukrainian medical universities. At time of admission, agents tell you that our office is in Ukraine, they work there with students, and have their own hostel, mess and much more. No doubt there are many agencies working in Ukraine and have their own hostel and mess in cities like Ivano, Kharkiv, etc. But, these agents interfere in every single process of students and charge a big amount from students for every single document work. Even if you want to deposit your fees in university, you can’t deposit without agent involvement as commission of agents is there in University and this is the main reason behind increased fees of medical universities in Ukraine.  If any student ask for any required documents from University, universities ask students to contact to their agent because universities cannot ask for money directly from students. They earn through agents working in Ukraine.  This situation is same nowadays in Georgia, Serbia, Poland, Kyrgyzstan, Kazakhstan and Russia.
  3. Corruption in University: Many faculties in Universities of Kharkiv, Ivano, Kyiv are so corrupt that they fails students willingly so that they can get some money from students to pass them in exam. This is a big issue faced by students and students end with paying thousands of rupees to these corrupt teachers. Due to this, many brilliant students suffers alot.
  4. Financial Considerations: Increasing tuition fee is a big concern for students planning to study in Ukraine.
